And this is why the World is literally 'going down the tubes'... Collectively as human beings, we are MAJOR consumers and have the necessity of "keeping up with the Jones'". The only problem is what happens to our 'stuff' after it's done being consumed and the "next big thing" hits the market and we throw away our old (otherwise, still working) stuff?
